Anthony Raisbury

Following 26 years of dedicated support to

Welford Hockey club as a player, coach,

umpire, committee member covering all roles,

and all around ambassador for Hockey in the

Village and the wider community -

Ant Raisbury has chosen to step down from

all of his roles with Welford Mixed Hockey Club

to free up time for family and to develop

other pursuits.

On behalf of the committee and the wider club membership - spanning many years – we would like to express our collective thanks to Ant for all that he has done from those early grass hockey days to the club we all enjoy today – many reading this message would have benefited from his tireless efforts to develop the club and the players within in it.

Whilst we should take time to reflect on Ant’s contributions, we must also continue with our planning for the coming season with Mixed, Badgers, and plans for Men’s Hockey still very much a priority for the continued development of our club.

Ours is a club very much centred around the membership and prides itself on providing opportunities for all to play, to develop and to enjoy the sport of Hockey.

As you might imagine, a number of short-term opportunities have opened up particularly around coaching and organising which must be picked up as we gear ourselves up for next season (some more urgent than others). If you are a hockey enthusiast (or parent/guardian of one) and would be interested in joining our committee and volunteering to help preserve all that is good about the club, please feel free to reach out to myself or any other member of the committee

Please note, we will be pausing Summer Hockey Training (Adults, Badgers, and Sunday Juniors) whilst we regroup and reorganise – apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks and Kind Regards,

Acting Chair
